What we’ve learned in working with over a thousand people is, everyone can improve their mental fitness.  You can achieve your goals and resolutions.  We have helped clients and ourselves achieve meaningful and peaceful lives by seeking improved mental fitness.  Because we do our own mental fitness work, we are uniquely qualified to help you do the same.  Mental fitness is built on a foundation of hope, peace, and self-belief.  You can incorporate these qualities into your lives.  These are eternal attributes, and they stay with you throughout your life.

Hope

What is hope?  Is it wishing for a miracle to save us from our challenges?  We don’t think so.  We think hope is the energy within human beings that fuels discovery, creation, endeavor, and engaged and meaningful life.  We help people find the energy of hope within themselves.  This hope is in your human DNA.

Peace

What is peace?  Peace is the foundation on which our human uniqueness is based.  Some say peace represents the God in you.  Others say peace is the thing that allows us to be touched, moved by the beauty of nature or worthy human actions.  Those with acute mental health issues like psychosis, bipolar disorder, or post-traumatic stress disorder may define peace as the ability to get out of bed, eat breakfast, take a shower, and go to work, take care of the daily activities of living.  We believe that each individual has their own definition of peace.  Peace is like pruning the dead branches or blossoms off plants.  This pruning facilitates new and beautiful growth.  As you find peace in your life today, this discovery enriches and expands your level of peace and inspires your personal growth, your improved mental fitness.  Please know that peace exists in you.  If you need help finding it, that’s why we’re here.

Knowing

What does it mean to know something about ourselves?  It’s not something you tell yourself or talk yourself into.  It’s something you feel internally, in your place of peace within.  Self-confidence leads to self-belief which leads to growth in self-awareness.  Self-awareness is the ground from which inner knowing grows and develops.  Do you want to know that whatever situations come your way, whether labeled good or bad (and we really don’t like labels except on our food), you will peacefully manage the variables and details with the knowledge that you are capable and equal to all the experiences of your life?  This is knowing.   It is knowing the magnificent, complex, unique person you are.  Maybe you haven’t lived with this inner knowing so far in your life.  If not, that’s OK because we don’t remember a class on this in school either, and we’re fairly certain our parents never taught us this.   This is why we’re here for you because what we know is, you can know personal strength and capability in your daily life.  This too, is in your DNA.

Changing bad habits is a great way to improve your mental fitness.  Sometimes, we forget that creating a good habit is as easy as creating a bad habit.  The only real difference is that the payoff for a good habit is long-term, fulfilling, and sustainable versus instant-term, unfulfilling, and unsustainable.  Good habits fill us with energy for our lives.

Anxiety & Worry

There are three competing theories about the causes of anxiety.  Is it irrational and negative thoughts?  Is it repressed conflicts and memories?  Is it a chemical imbalance?  Anxiety is not a mandatory condition, and there are things you can do to reduce and manage it.

Weight Loss

Do you need to lose weight, quit smoking, or just improve your health and mood? With a holistic approach, we help people make manageable lifestyle changes that resolve these issues.

Chronic pain

When we get injured, we experience acute pain.  When the injury heals, the pain goes away because the swelling goes down, and our blood flow goes back to normal.  What if the pain remains?  What’s that about?  If medications could heal chronic pain, no one would have chronic pain, right?  That’s the situation, medications cannot heal chronic pain.  Only our brains can heal chronic pain.  If you want to heal your pain without medications, we hope you’ll contact us for an appointment.  Being pain-free is a goal we invite you to set with us.
